The almost six week long Festive RIDE campaign wrapped up with only ten drivers being charged for impaired driving related offences in the Upper Ottawa Valley detachment area. The OPP held 131 RIDE checks from November 23rd to January 2nd, and the ten charges laid were for impaired driving, over 80 milligrams or refusal to provide a breath sample. In addition, three drivers had their licenses suspended for registering a warn on the roadside screening device. Although the campaign has ended, the OPP warn that RIDE programs will continue to be held throughout the year, at any time of day or night.
