Entrance to the Four Seasons Trail in Laurentian Valley during the winter skating season.
The award winning skating trail in Laurentian Valley is expected to open soon. The Manager of Public Works for Laurentian Valley says last year they had over 15,000 people check out the trail and won awards from the Ottawa Valley Tourist Association and Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce. Behm says the flooding of the ice was delayed a bit at the start of the year due to the lack of snow.He expects the skating trail that runs through the woods behind the Alice and Fraser Rec Centre on Henan Road to be open either the first or second week of January.
Behm says they also have a 4 kilometer snowshoeing trail next to the popular skating trail for residents to enjoy.

The Manager of Public Works in Laurentian Valley says they have several glow skates planned at night where they light up the trail and serve hot chocolate and hot dogs.
Behm says normally the 1.5 kilometer skating trail is open from 10am to 4pm, but as a part of the Alice in Winterland festival the trail will be open the night of January 24th.
