Bell is laying fibre, Rogers wants to install a tower and now Cogeco wants a letter of support from Renfrew Town council. Cogeco wants to bring high speed internet to the region and Michael Hennessy, a representative with the company, was in council chambers seeking a letter of support in their bid to expand their reach. Council has deferred their decision to a later meeting, but Hennessy noted there was no commitment from the town, just a document to submit with Cogeco’s application. Hennessy went on to note that access to internet is now considered a necessity and is vital for success of local businesses and economic growth.
