The winners of the Town of Arnprior’s first Christmas decorating contest have been announced.
Judges made their tour Tuesday night and selected the Schnob residence on Allan Drive as their favourite.
Dennis Schnob has been winning Christmas decorating contests since before they were invented.
Arnprior Mayor Walter Stack was on hand at the Allan Drive household to present the winning prize Wednesday morning.
Recreation Director Graeme Ivory persuaded Council to endorse the event, hoping that in future years the contest will help attract visitors to the community as a holiday destination.
Doug and Nancy Brown’s home on Elgin Street West claimed second prize, while third place went to Aaron and Christal Veleke of Charles Street.
The successful entrants received Live-love-local gift certificates in varying amounts.
