The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP responded to 16 motor vehicle collisions in the detachment area during the weekend winter storm. Police say the majority of the collisions took place Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning during the heavy snowfall and strong winds. No serious injuries were reported as a result of all the crashes. Last week, the Killaloe OPP responded to 17 collisions with two of them animal related.
Local police are reminding motorists to remove any built up snow on your vehicle before heading out and adjust driving behaviours in winter conditions.
