There are still pockets of the Valley left in darkness this morning. Several communities in the west-north region of Renfrew County remain without power, and though some could have the lights back as early as noon, according to Hydro One, expected restoration for the majority of outages is around 4pm today. Considering the chilly temperatures this morning, that’s hundreds of people left in the cold. The storm that hit the region this weekend packed a wallop and was a reminder to residents that winter is settling in for the season. The heavy snow, mixed with freezing rain has dropped limbs and branches from trees, as well as downed some bell and power lines. Crews are working steadily as municipalities clean up from the heavy dumping of snow we received this weekend. Just a reminder to motorists to give yourself plenty of time to get to your destination and to adjust your driving to the road conditions.
