Arnprior Town Council has received a staff report investigating the possibility of a community off-leash Dog Park.
The municipality’s long-range capital plan currently proposes 2024 as the date such a facility could be constructed.
When the staff report came forward December 9th, councillors appreciated the effort but were not convinced the issue was of sufficient priority for the timeline to be bumped up to the near future.
Mayor Walter Stack, himself a dog owner, says given pressing issues with infrastructure work, he can’t see advancing the Dog Park on the Town’s list of priorities.
The Mayor believes there are a number of issues that would require clarification before firm plans can be made.
