Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke MP Cheryl Gallant says last week’s Throne Speech which inaugurated the new session of Parliament will be noted more for what it omitted than what it includes.
Gallant is the Conservative party’s critic for files relating to Northern Ontario and Veterans Affairs. While there are no mines in the riding, Northwestern Ontario is home to the resource-rich Ring of Fire, and mention of which was also absent from the Speech from the Throne read December 5th. Gallant believes proposed changes to gun laws are another example of Liberals over-reaching to intrude on the rural lifestyle.
