The Home Depot Foundation is helping out Family and Children’s Services of Renfrew County in a huge way. The local agency is this year’s recipient of a $35,000 Orange Door Project Grant. The cash will support a program developed to empower at-risk youth facing multiple barriers as they leave the care of FCS. It aims to enhance the abilities of these youth to become self-empowered and build their connection to natural supports including family, friends and community mentors. Executive Director of Family and Children’s Services Kathy Davis says receiving the grant allows them to provide the additional support they need to help local children reach their educational or career-related goals and build relationships with people who can support them for the long-term.
