The Jason Blaine Foundation has made several significant donations to local charities. Blaine tells myFM that he flew from Nashville to be here for the cheque presentations yesterday.
Seven local organizations received a grand total of $25,000 at the Best Western in Pembroke. The Jason Blaine Foundation donated to the Algonquin College Students Association ($500), Canadian Cancer Society ($5,000), Carefor Health and Community Service ($3,000), the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 72 in Pembroke ($2,500), First Step Options ($1,000), Elevate Youth Wellness Centre ($3,000) and the Robbie Dean Centre ($10,000). Blaine says his foundation has agreed to donate $10,000 to the Robbie Dean Family Counselling Centre on a yearly basis because of the impact they have in the community.
The country music star will also be playing a sold out show at the Rankin Rec Centre tonight (Friday, December 6th) to benefit 3-year-old Grace Lair and her family. Grace is a 3-year-old girl who has an inoperable brain tumour. A go-fund-me page to support the family has raised over $21,000, surpassing their $15,000 goal.
