The Township of McNab-Braeside continues to explore its recycling options.
A number of local communities made short-term arrangements following the collapse of Beaumen Waste Management last summer, but the interim deals expire in January of 2020.
McNab-Braeside’s arrangement with Topps Environmental Solutions of Carleton Place sees the firm collect recyclables on a weekly basis.
Mayor Tom Peckett says a number of residents have expressed fears that the Township’s recyclables were ending up as trash, but he says that is not the case.
The Mayor says there has been talk about Renfrew, Arnprior and his community reaching a common solution that would see recyclables sent to the Ottawa Valley Waste Recovery Centre (OVWRC) in Pembroke, but nothing has been formalized.
