It’s a tradition in downtown Renfrew to kick of the Advent. Sunday evening is the lighting of the Nativity Scene in downtown Renfrew. Diana Wakely says the annual event is a reminder to everyone what Christmas is all about it.
Last year baby Jesus was stolen from his manger only to turn up later in the municipal parking lot. Wakely assures us they’ve taken steps to prevent further kidnappings.
Things begin at 7pm in Low Square with an introduction, singing of Christmas carols and followed up with hot chocolate donated by Tim Hortons.
