Caroline Mulroney, Minister of Transportation, has announced the Province’s plan to allow off-road vehicle riders easier access to municipal roadways, thus connecting them to more trail networks in Ontario.
Arnprior Mayor Walter Stack says it’s hardly breaking news.
Mulroney says the Province is getting out of ATV riders’ way by reclassifying off-road motorcycles as an Off Highway Vehicle, and allowing municipalities to regulate ATV use within the local jurisdiction.
The proposed measure harmonizes Ontario’s approach with other provinces including Manitoba and Alberta.
