The local real estate market continues to post big numbers. The stats for October are out, and the Renfrew County Real Estate Board says while the October sales were down about four percent from October of last year, it was still the third-best October on record. In the first ten months of the year, home sales are up 9.3% from 2018, and home sales so far in 2019 have surpassed the previous annual record set back in 2007. Supply continues to be low. There were 152 new residential listings in October 2019. This was a decrease of 18% on a year-over-year basis and marked the lowest level for the month in nearly a decade. The average price of homes sold last month in Renfrew County was $256,924, up 4.9% from October 2018.
