There’s been a fire at the Ben Hokum & Son saw mill at Golden Lake. Crews from Killaloe-Hagarty-Richards assisted those from the North Algona Wilberforce Fire Department in battling the blaze.
Acting NAW Fire Chief Kevin Champ says one building of the Hokum operation was severely damaged last night.
Champ says firefighters spent seven and a half hours on scene under very cold conditions, and a crew remains on site this afternoon to extinguish hot spots.
As there were no injuries, the Fire Marshal will not investigate.
The NAW Fire Department investigation should be completed by next week.
