Arnprior Mayor Walter Stack has introduced a Notice of Motion concerning the contentious issue of a Special Levy on downtown businesses to pay for the new Ken Scissons Parking Lot on McGonigal Street.
Although he did not share the text of his Notice of Motion with the crowd who’d packed the Council Chamber to witness discussions, the Mayor is proposing to strike brownfield-related costs from the bill for the Parking Lot, thus reducing the Special Levy by $54,134.
Oldies 107.7 obtained the text of Stack’s Notice during the Media Questions portion of the meeting.
It will come back to Council November 25th and be seconded by Councillor Ted Strike.
