Epic is improving how health professionals handle your care. The new program is now in full swing at the Renfrew Victoria Hospital as well as St. Francis Memorial in Barry’s Bay. Tim Sonnenburg, VP of Financial Services, Chief Financial Officer and Executive lead in the implementation of Epic, says it keeps all of your health care information is one spot, making for easy access to improve you’re over all care.
Epic rolled out in late Spring and connects several hospitals.
Sonnenburg says the roll out was fairly seamless, thanks in large part to prep work prior to its launch. He says they brought in additional students to work with nurses and doctors while they acclimated to the system and even brought in an additional emerg doctor to alleviate the wait times. RVH was one of the first to work with the new program and with more hospitals moving to Epic, they’ll be able to stream hospital to hospital care, improving your overall experience.
