Arnprior-Braeside-McNab Seniors at Home is looking for volunteer drivers to take area residents to out-of-town medical appointments.
Volunteer and Social Program Co-Ordinator Nikki Rumbelow says the task is suited to those who like driving- but it’s more than just that; it’s the opportunity to be a lifeline to others, and perhaps enjoy the conversations and companionship en route.
Rumbelow says there’s compensation on a per-kilometre basis- 40 cents per km, and providing the services doesn’t impact your vehicle insurance.
Arnprior-Braeside-McNab Seniors at Home provides over 14 thousand drives per year.
The Volunteer and Service Program Coordinator says tasks are available that suit your hours.
She says a Vulnerable Sector Records Check is required from the OPP, but Seniors at Home makes the paperwork easy, and at no cost to you.
