She feels ignored by local MPP John Yakabuski and Ontario Premier Doug Ford, so Bonnie Keefe is doing whatever she can to get their attention. Bonnie Keefe is the mother of a special needs daughter, and she has no permanent place to live.
Bonnie says she had a face to face with Ford when his campaign brought him to Renfrew, she says he made some promises that she’s still waiting on.
Bonnie says her daughter is bounced back and forth between Cornwall and Ottawa. So Keefe is on a hunger strike and camping out in Low Square in Renfrew, where she says she will stay until her daughter has a bed or a home. She contacted the town of Renfrew and she says they’ve given her permission to stage her protest on municipal property. In the meantime, Bonnie says she’s written Yakabuski and Ford, asking for their help, but she says her words have fallen on deaf ears. She says she’s heard from neither politician.
