The closure of Beaumen Waste Management back in June was just the beginning of visible changes that will impact the Recycling Industry in both the short and long term.
Many area municipalities reached interim arrangements they are now looking to consolidate with more cost-effective solutions.
Arnprior Mayor Walter Stack says these too, will be only temporary, as by 2024 there will be a major recycling shake-up in the Province.
The Mayor says retailers have been responsible for excessive packaging- partly to reduce the up to six percent of lost inventory.
The bottom line for consumers is don’t get to comfortable with any recycling arrangement, with the whole industry in flux.
