Conservative Cheryl Gallant has won a seventh consecutive term in Parliament. The incumbent is the projected winner of the Renfrew Nipissing Pembroke riding. With 51 of 247 polls reporting, Gallant has just under 52 percent of the vote. Ruben Marini of the Liberal Party had over 21 percent, Eileen Jones-Whyte of the NDP with just under 15 percent, Ian Pineau of the Green Party with 5.5 percent support and David Ainsworth of the People’s Party of Canada with just over 2 percent. The remaining candidates hover at or below one percent in support. In the Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston riding, Conservative Scott Reid is the projected winner, and in the Pontiac, Will Amos has won another term in office. More updates to come…
