Bill Stevens may have founded the club in 1985, but it was photographer extraordinaire Lee Narraway who somehow found the time to grow the Burnstown Rowing Club into what it is today.
Stevens will be the first to admit this.
On a sunny Wednesday afternoon on the banks of the Madawaska in McNab-Braeside, the Burnstown Rowing Club Boathouse was formally named in honour of one of the club’s most active members, Lee Narraway.
Lee says it wasn’t something she expected.
Lee is an accomplished photographer who travelled the globe, but still found time to nurture novice members in the sport and helped make the club a success.
On Wednesday this week, past and present rowing club members and local dignitaries were on hand to congratulate Lee Narraway on a tribute well-deserved.
