When Renfrew County’s vast geography works against paramedics, they can now call in technology.
Paramedic Chief Mike Nolan says after successful trials two weeks ago, his crews can now deploy drones both by cellular and the more traditional radio frequencies.
Nolan says drones can deliver medication or a life-saving defibrillator to your doorstep in advance of the paramedic crew arriving to offer you aid.
The Paramedic Chief says following the tests, Transport Canada has adjusted its regulations to allow our county paramedics permission for the cellular drone deployment, making this the first jurisdiction in Canada to achieve the status.
