The first ever Taking Steps Against Breast Cancer Walk at Hugli’s Blueberry Ranch is coming up on Saturday. The event celebrates breast cancer survivors in the community and gives an opportunity for participants to remember loved ones who have lost their lives to the disease. Leigh Costello with the local branch of the Canadian Cancer Society says they also hope to raise some money.
Their fundraising goal is $3,500 and if all goes well, organizers are hoping to make it an annual event. Registration on Saturday opens at 9am with the walk through the corn maze happening shortly after.
