A night to remember those who have suffered, who have been lost and for women who are currently suffering from violence in all forms. The 26th annual Take Back the Night March put on by the Renfrew County Women’s Sexual Assault Centre is coming to Deep River on Wednesday night. Take Back the Night is a chance for women to reclaim the night as their own, showing that women have a right to walk the streets at night and be safe doing so. Erin Ritza, Public Education Assistant and Peer Support Councillor for the Renfrew County Women’s Sexual Assault Centre, explains where things get going.
Men are welcome to attend as well but are asked to walk behind the women marching. There will be some refreshments at the library following Take Back the Night.
