An Arnprior native is one step closer in his quest to become Canada’s Top Comic. Nigel Grinstead has made it into the top ten of the Sirius XM Top Comic competition following nationwide voting last month. The 26 year old Grinstead, who grew up in the Prior but now lives in Toronto, will compete live on stage with the other nine finalists at the SiriusXM Top Comic Finale on September 26th at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Toronto, when a winner will be chosen. The grand prize is $25,000, but even more valuable are the guaranteed spots to perform at Just For Laughs events in Australia, Toronto, Vancouver and Just For Laughs Montreal. The two runners-up will each receive a cash prize of $2,500 in addition to performances at JFL events in 2020.
