If you’re on the road this Labour Day weekend with a pet on your holidays make sure humans and critters arrive safely. Heather Jobe, Community Development coordinator, for the Ontario SPCA Renfrew County Animal Centre says giving a pet free reign of the inside your vehicle isn’t a good idea.
Safety experts warn an unrestrained animal in a vehicle has the same impact on safety as a person not wearing a seat belt. A collision or sudden braking can turn your pet into a projectile inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle. Additionally, Jobe says never put a pet in the open box of a pick-up truck.
