Firefighters from Garrison Petawawa are on the scene of a fire in the range and training area near Highway 17. Smoke may be visible from the Garrison training area and air quality could be affected for short periods of time. Garrison Petawawa Public Affairs Officer, Lieutenant Brigitte Van Hende, confirms this is the same fire that was reported last week. She says the cause of the blaze remains under investigation at this time and isn’t sure of the exact size of the fire. Van Hende says there’s no cause for concern as firefighters are on the scene monitoring the situation and have the fire under control.
