Road work is a necessary hassle for tax payers. It needs to get done, it’s inconvenient and there’s always another road that needs to be fixed. Renfrew is no exception. Director of Development and Works, Mike Asselin, says they’ve completed rehabilitation work on 30 percent of the town’s roads in the last ten years, but there’s still a great deal of work to be done.
Major work included Highways 132 and 60, as well as Raglan, Plaunt, Barr, Quarry and Vimy. With most of the major connectors in decent shape, the town can start to look at smaller back streets, but it depends on funding and meeting criteria for government grants.
