Striking cleaners take picket lines to MP and MPP’s offices

Members of Local 639 of the Union of National Defence Employees took their three week old picket line to the doors of our local federal and provincial politicians today. Over 80 cleaners, employees of GDI who have been working at Garrison Petawawa, made their way to the Isabella Street offices of Cheryl Gallant and John Yakabuski this morning before they were set to open at 10am. Members of the union have been on the picket line for several weeks and now they want to up the pressure according to the president of the local, Kevin MacInnis.

MacInnis says he is thankful for the support they have received. He is asking drivers to remain patient during the process as they know they are causing delays.
