The Township of McNab-Braeside has held a Public Meeting on the potential impacts of raising the defined Flood Contour in the municipality to the 76.3 metre mark. The meeting, held Tuesday in Council Chambers, saw 65 members of the public attend.
Clerk Angela Young says a number residents spoke to a wide range of concerns, including flood impacts on property values and assessment, and the status of public actions both in Ontario and the Pontiac.
Residents have until September 4th to submit their written concerns; and so far, about twelve letters have been received by the Township.
Residents’ comments will be summarized, and forwarded to Renfrew County Planner Bruce Howarth, who will include their issues in a report to McNab-Braeside Council, which is due September 17th.
A number of other flood-related concerns will also be considered at the Township’s regular Council session on Tuesday August 20th.
