The loss of the services of Beaumen Waste Management is having consequences in Admaston-Bromley.
The Township is now transferring its Recyclables to the Ottawa Valley Waste Recovery Centre (OVWRC) in Pembroke to preserve remaining space in its own Osceloa Landfill site.
The additional transportation charge is one thing, but the OVWRC are sticklers on the purity of recycling streams.
Mayor Michael Donohue says if the materials arrive in a co-mingled manner, the tipping fee goes way up.
The Mayor says Admaston-Bromley will hire three part-timers to make sure items dropped off for recycling on Stone Road, in Douglas and at Osceola have been pre-sorted by residents into their proper streams- and if not, will do it for them.
