Admaston-Bromley and Horton Townships continue to look for a permanent solutions to their Recycling challenges.
When Beaumen Waste Management unexpectedly closed its doors June 23rd, recycling pick up in the two townships and several others came to a screeching halt.
Other townships affected have already made alternative arrangements. Arnprior, Renfrew and McNab Braeside made a short term deal with another contractor, TOPPS Environmental, and a weekly recycling schedule begins this week.
Whitewater Region Township struck a new deal with Miller Waste Systems.
Greater Madawaska residents take their own recyclables to the Township’s Waste Transfer Stations and the municipality now trucks them to the Ottawa Valley Waste Recovery Centre in Pembroke.
As for Admaston and Horton, each municipality is asking residents to take recyclables to their township landfill sites while they work on a deal.
There’s word a resolution will go before Admaston-Bromley’s council on August 1st.
