Throughout his career, Beaulieu was deployed to Bosnia with the Royal Canadian Dragoons and to Afghanistan to lead the integration of full motion video on Tac-Net. Major Tony Sheilds grew up in St. Thomas, Ontario and started his military career with the reserves in the year 2000. Sheilds has been deployed to Afghanistan twice and eventually posted to the Maritime Forces to oversee ship to shore communications. He says he has big shoes to fill from the outgoing commanding officer.
Most recently, Sheilds was employed at the National Security Agency where he worked on future cryptographic challenges. The newly appointed commanding officer of 4CDSG Signals Squadron is currently in the process of buying a house in Petawawa with his wife.
