Garrison Petawawa will play host to a meeting between the Prime Minister and the Secretary General of NATO. Justin Trudeau will sit down for a bilateral meeting with Jens Stoltenburg on Monday to discuss global challenges and key issues facing the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A media advisory from the base says Trudeau is expected to stress the need for NATO partners to work together to defend the rules-based international order, advance peace and security, and build a better future for people around the world. He will highlight Canada’s commitment to the alliance and underscore Canada’s leadership within NATO, including at the head of the enhanced Forward Presence battlegroup in Latvia and the NATO training and capacity building mission in Iraq. After their meeting, the two are expected to have lunch with service members from the Garrison.
