The names of those involved in the fatal collision on Sunday have been released. 36-year-old Michael Bourque was killed after driving his vehicle the wrong way down Highway 417 near Arnprior. The multi-vehicle crash also claimed the life of 62-year-old Corinne Monette and sent two men in their 20’s to hospital. There are reports that Bourque was being investigated by Ottawa Police and OPP for an alleged sexual assault of a child at a hotel in Kanata. An investigation has been launched by the Special Investigations Unit because Bourque’s vehicle was involved in a police pursuit. Officers maintain the chase was called off before the crash occurred. Witnesses at the scene say the driver didn’t try to swerve or avoid the vehicles he struck. The fatal collision took place in the Westbound lanes of Highway 417 on Sunday, July 7th around 1:00pm between Kinburn Side Road and Panmure Road.
