Arnprior is down to its last option for the location of a proposed Sens Rink in the community.
Town Planner Robin Paquette says Legion Park, off Eady Street near John XXIII School has a number of things going for it.
Legion Park already has an outdoor rink in the winter and the lighting on a Sens Rink at the location would be less intrusive than what’s there now.
When it comes to the other options, the Planner says Meehan Street, near the former CN tracks was a brownfield, and a second choice failed on soil integrity.
The one thing that has been consistent throughout the process is the Town’s insistence that the proceeds from fundraising and all costs be in the bank before it will authorize the project to go ahead.
Paquette says the stakeholders are on board with the Legion Park location and are confident they can raise the money.
