The worker who fell through the roof of the Arnprior Shopping Centre on Saturday is said to be in good health. An official at the Arnprior Mall says the man was released from hospital yesterday, just a day after a steep fall. The man was working on the roof when he fell through and landed inside the Metro grocery store around 12:30 pm. Evan Gorman is an off duty police officer from the Orillia area who happened to be in the store when it happened and he gave first aid to the man. He tells us what happened from his vantage point.
Gorman says the man’s fall caused a bit of panic among customers so he used his police training to take control of the scene and cordoned off the area, while an off duty paramedic arrived on scene to help. The man was air lifted to hospital a short time later but Gorman says he got some good news today that the man is fine, and has no broken bones.
