Two and a half months after it was made, McNab Braeside township is terminating the state of emergency it put in place after massive flooding. Municipal officials say terminating the emergency, which was declared on April 26th, does not impact recovery efforts or provincial funding programs. The township remains in recovery mode. Flood debris continues to be accepted at no charge at the landfill at 573 Calabogie Road during regular hours of operation and you can get landfill vouchers at the Township Office. Sandbag pick up is still happening. The township hired a company called “Marshall’s” to retrieve them from flood affected areas. The Ministry of Municipal Affairs & Housing has some upcoming sessions planned to help those who are applying to the Disaster Recovery Assistance Program. The first two sessions will occur on Tuesday, July 23rd. The first is at the Eagle’s Nest in Eganville at 3:00 p.m., and there is one at 6:30 p.m. at the Westmeath Community Centre. There is also sessions on Wednesday, July 24th at the Shady Nook Hall in Laurentian Valley at 3:00 p.m. and at the Community Centre in Horton at 6:30 p.m. the same day. McNab/Braeside residents are welcome to attend any of the sessions.
