Whitewater Region Township is making new arrangements for its curbside garbage collection and recycling services.
Miller Waste Management Systems will begin curbside pickups starting the week of July 8th.
Miller also serves Laurentian Valley, Pembroke and Petawawa.
Recycling materials collected at curbside will be sent to the Upper Ottawa Valley Waste Recovery Centre for processing.
The only change to curbside collection will be the recycling pick up day for communities in the former Township of Ross, including the hamlets of Foresters Falls, Haley Station and the Haley Town Site.
Effective next week, recycling pick-up will occur on Tuesday instead of Friday, and plastic bags will no longer be accepted with recycling.
All other collection schedules remain the same.
The municipal landfill site at 990 Kohlsmith Road will be open Thursday, (July 4th) from 2 to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, July 5th and 6th from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Regular hours at the landfill will resume next week, open Wednesday and Saturday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Township thanks you for your patience in the transition period forced by the sudden closure of Beaumen Waste Management on June 23rd.
