FLOOD RISK DOWNGRADED

The possible flood situation in the Pembroke District continues to downgrade. The Ministry of Natural Resourses issued a Flood Watch for much of the area recently, but that has since been dropped to a Flood Outlook.

DRUG BUST IN SHAWVILLE

Two Shawville men are behind bars following a police raid on Main Street in Shawville. The Surete du Quebec say officers seized more than 25 grams of pot, about 10 grams of a substance that could be cocaine, firearms and items related to drug trafficking.

WANTED MAN ARRESTED IN RENFREW, DRUGS SEIZED: OPP

Serving an arrest warrant netted Renfrew OPP more than they expected. The raid on a home on Vimy Blvd in Renfrew to find a wanted man also resulted in the seizure of drugs. According to police, they found a cooler which contained marihuana and suspected cocaine.

KEMPTVILLE COLLEGE GETS ANOTHER YEAR

The Kemptville Agricultural College is getting a boost from the Ontario Government. The college, which was originally slated to be closed by the University of Guelph next year due to financial pressures, will instead be taking new students in September.

QUYON MAN CHARGED WITH MURDERING HIS WIFE

A Quyon man is charged with first degree murder in connection with the death of his wife in Aylmer over the weekend. 49 year old Alain Gascon appeared in court in Gatineau this afternoon (Tuesday) to answer to the charge.
