There is a pending lawsuit against a former pharmacist at Filion pharmacy in Shawville. Ahmad Hassan is planning to open his own Pharmacy in the building that housed Studio 332.

PETER EMON WANTS ANOTHER TERM AS WARDEN

Peter Emon plans to seek another term as County Warden. He will step down as Greater Madawaka Mayor effective at the end of November and has been successful in his bid to gain the Reeve?s position in Renfrew, by defeating Audrey Greene in the municipal election.

STUDENT VOTE RESULTS DIFFER FROM THOSE OF ACTUAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION

There would be a recount for the Mayor's chair in Renfrew if the election was decided by students at Our Lady of Fatima school. In the mock vote taken during the actual election campaign, Don Eady and James Miller tied the Renfrew election with 11 votes each.

Renfrew County has a new tagline - Experience Our History, Share Our Future. Spokesman Michael Barber says it was time for a new - fresh way for people to think of the area. He says it was a successful contest that engaged the residents.

Dryland dog racing is turning into an international sport. Similar to dog sled racing but without the snow, the sport is growing in leaps and bounds and Bristol Quebec is the epi-centre in Canada.
