Eganville's new natural play space is starting to take shape. Bonnechere Valley has received $6,000 from the county to create the natural play space - and on Tuesday (May 17), councillor Jackie Agnew showed council a blueprint of what the space will look like.

ALLEGED GROW-OP BUSTED IN PONTIAC

A substantial amount of marijuana has been seized during a drug raid in the Pontiac. The Surete du Quebec says 410 plants, cash and equipment used for the production of marijuana were all discovered during a search of a property in Mansfield Pontefract.

The North Algona Wilberforce Recreation Committee has presented their budget, asking for $26,000 for the year. The budget is used for advertising, reduce ticket programs, and sponsorships.

SMUGGLED SMOKES SEIZED IN PONTIAC

69,000 contraband cigarettes were seized from a residence in Bryson, Quebec just before the long weekend. According to the Surete du Quebec, police searched two apartments located on Main Street on May 19.

A fire ban is now in place in McNab-Braeside. There will be no open air burning or recreational fires permitted - effective immediately. All fire permits are now suspended until a significant amount of rain is received.

A 110 signature petition and a copy of three emails were brought to Bonnechere Valley council on Tuesday (May 17). They were brought in by Paul Lance - owner of Paul?s Pro Shop, a mobile store that can sharpen skates and fix any type of hockey equipment on the spot.
