The summer program for the Renfrew County Catholic School Board was well received this year. According to Director of Education Michele Arbour about 300 students took part at various locations across the valley.

PRESERVATION PROJECT WANTS MORE TESTING DONE ON WHITE LAKE

The subject of the condition of White Lake was in front of Greater Madawaska Council Tuesday afternoon (Aug 26). The White Lake Preservation Project asked and received from council a letter in support of a Trillium Grant to do more formal testing of the water.

RENFREW OPP TO MOVE INTO NEW DETACHMENT HQ IN 2016

The OPP will be getting new digs in Renfrew. Renfrew County is planning on building a 16,000 square foot facility immediately adjacent to Renfrew County Place at an estimated cost of just over $5.3 million.

The Renfrew County United Way announced their new Honourary Chair for the 2015 campaign during a BBQ yesterday (Aug 27) at Riverside Park in Pembroke. Chairing this year is Warden Peter Emon who says he is honoured to be named.

The race for councillor in the Town of Renfrew has grown by two more nominations. 40 year old Tom Sidney filed his papers yesterday (Wednesday) in hopes to be elected as the 'people's councillor'.
